AAUW works for education and equity for all women and girls and supports all equity-oriented programming.

• Encourages cultural strengths
• Uses mentors
• Gives girls time to speak out
• Helps girls to develop trusting relationships with other girls and women
• Interrelates with schools, educators, and a (K-16) school curriculum

We support programs for girls, such as Expanding Your Horizons in Math and Science, which allows girls to participate in hands-on workshops that expose them to different careers. AAUW also supports the Sister to Sister Summits, events that give girls time to speak out on issues of concern to them in a non-threatening environment.
