Citygirls, now in its seventh year, is an after-school mentoring and enrichment program for girls between 10 and 14.

Encourages cultural strengths
Uses mentors
Gives girls time to speak out
Helps girls to develop trusting relationships with other girls and women
Educates girls about their own health, including mental health, nutrition and healthy sexuality
Allows girls a voice in program design
Provides community service
Interrelates with schools, educators, and a (K-16) school curriculum

Each Citygirl is matched to a college mentor and attends two hour meetings on campus, with her mentor, throughout the college year. The campus program includes monthly meetings that may include workshops on self-esteem, goal setting, and wellness as well as arts and literacy. During December and April, the girls are involved, with their mentors, in a community service project of their choice.

Citygirls offers at least three special events throughout the year. Past events include Women in Science and Engineering Day, Girls' Sports Day, Ice Skating at Fleet, and a Women's History Festival. Citygirls also participate in a variety of weekend events such as a high ropes and climbing wall challenge in October.
