The YWCA's mission is to empower women and girls and to eliminate racism.

• Encourages cultural strengths
• Uses mentors
• Gives girls time to speak out
• Helps girls to develop trusting relationships with other girls and women
• Educates girls about their own health, including mental health, nutrition and healthy sexuality
• Allows girls a voice in program design
• Provides community service
• Interrelates with schools, educators, and a (K-16) school curriculum
• Helps girls find and/or deepen their own spirituality

The YWCA offers several programs that girls can participate in:

My Sister's Keeper an intervention program in which girls learn, bond and support each other through educational, recreational, skill-building and social community awareness activities.

YW TECH GYRL a program that introduces girls to different types of
technology in order to prepare them for careers in technology.

Mother Nurture a pregnancy prevention program using "Baby Think it Over" curriculum and models.

We also offer workshops on health, wellness and sexuality, substance abuse, teen dating violence, and other topics.
